OAT MILK

Tips for Making Your Own Homemade Oat Milk

  1. Choose the Right Oats: Use rolled oats or quick oats for a smooth texture. Avoid steel-cut oats as they can be too gritty.

  2. Water Ratio: A standard ratio is 1 cup of oats to 3 cups of water. Adjust based on how creamy you like your milk.

  3. Blend Carefully: Blend the oats and water on high for about 30 seconds. Don't over-blend, as it can result in a slimy texture.

  4. Strain the Mixture: Strain through a sieve first, this will help the second squeeze so much easiet. Then use a nut milk bag, cheesecloth, or coffee filterto strain the oat milk. Squeeze gently to avoid pushing through too much pulp.

  5. Store Properly: Keep your oat milk in an airtight container in the fridge. It's best consumed within 4–5 days. Shake well before using, as it can separate.

OAT MILK 〰️

1 cup rolled oats

3 cups ice cold water

3 cubes of ice

2 pitted dates or 2 tbl sp agave syrup

Pinch salt

In a secure blender, blitz all the ingredients together on high for 30 seconds and no more. A taller blender works better for this as if its not a super tight lid, it will go everywhere. It’s also really important that the water is ice cold, as any heat will result in a slimy oat milk.

Once blitzed, pour through a sieve into a bowl and gently push any liquid out of the pulp. Place pulp to the side and heat to my Oat Milk Pulp Energy Balls Recipe to see how to use it up so you have no wastage.

For the seconds strain por the liquid through a coffee filter and gently push it through allowing a really clean and clear oat milk. Place the oat milk in a air tight jar and store in the fridge for no more than 5 days.
