FROZEN STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI
A frozen strawberry daiquiri is a chilled cocktail made by blending rum, lime juice, sugar (or simple syrup) and ripe strawberries with ice until smooth and slushy. A fruity, refreshing twist on the original Cuban daiquiri, the classic, shaken three ingredient daiquiri (rum, lime, sugar) rose to fame in the early 20th century, but the frozen version surged in popularity in the 1970s and 1980s as blenders and commercial frozen drink machines became common in bars and restaurants, making the sweeter, visually appealing, and easily customisable frozen strawberry daiquiri a global crowd pleaser and summer staple.
Feel free to mix up the fruit with kiwi, mango, pineapple, or anything fun bright and tropical and in season, and balance with lime juice and sugar to taste.
