Small but mighty is the best way to explain the Nations capital. The food scene is next level and luckily everything is in a pretty close proximity to each other, making jumping around to each spot seamless.
Fast Tips

Public transport really isn't Canberra's vibe, so I recommend hiring a car or using uber to get around. Everything is less than a 10 minute drive so uber might be a bit cheaper if you're not staying long.

Try your absolute hardest to skip Sundays here, as not much is open on Sunday nights when it comes eating out.

As a queer male I felt completely safe here. The city seemed to be quite sleepy and pleasant and LGBTQ+ friendly as well.

Three nights is more than enough time to spend in the city here. It could also be a great base for day drives to the highlands and other close by NSW features.

We stayed at the Little National which was such a great shout if you looking for something out of the way. Also allowed entry into its sister hotels which featured gyms and wellness centres.

BAR ROCHFORD
Situated on an blink and you’ll walk right past flight of stairs, this Euro dining space is as cosy as it is vibing. Wines terrific and the food is delicious without being pretentious.
HIGHROAD
If you’re looking a fully fledged sit down proper breakfast, Highroad Dickson is my pick of the bunch. Indoor/outdoor design, allowing you to feel all the sun even in the winter.
INTRA
Specialty coffee spot overlooking a glorious park in Campbell. Grab freshly ground beans for take home and definitely smash a jaffle while you’re there.

THREE MILLS BAKERY
Nothing better than pastries and this Canberra local is top of the game. The pastries were as light as a cloud with a strong caramelisation on the outside, which is exactly what I want when it comes to my food pre midday.
11E CAVE
Inspired by French wine cellars, if you’re serious about your wine this hidden bar is my go to. Limited hours, so plan your trek there ahead, but seriously cool spot.
BRODBURGER
Exclusive to the ACT this burger chain is the kind burger spot I wish was a chain in Melbourne (instead of who we do have…). Juicy and no fuss, great for an easy lunch.
MOLLY BAR
Hidden bar, down a back street, through a dodgy door and up a flight of stairs you’ll find this prohibition style cocktail bar. it was packed when I went but finding a table isn’t too hard.
PARANORMAL
Wines off the wall is always going to be a vibe and paranormal has quite the selection. Service is what really stood out here. Snacks are a must try and keep an eye out got the collab lunches they do.
VERITY LANE MARKET
A food hall for everyone. This casual vibe of a spot features different vendors doing their thing so if you have a fussy team of mates, this will appease everyone.
